Last weekend took place in the facilities of Cecyl near the city of Segovia the Championship of Spain of Young Horses. A championship, developed in these magnificent facilities, a little past by water, but that does not stop being interesting.
Highlight the quality of the specimens presented at different ages. It shows the development and selection that is made to try to compete with quality horses and horses.
It is missing more representation in these competitions of Iberian, Spanish and Portuguese horses, as well as lack of quality of many of them to compete with Central European horses.
I think that this type of competition should be the yardstick of many PRE and Lusitanian breeders to compare their products, and see if their selection criteria are appropriate for the level of demand that the competition in our country is requiring.
Also highlight some interesting examples within our Iberian breeds that are an example of when a selection program is made with criteria results are achieved.
