New Regulations for Morphological-Functional Competitions for 2022.

Following approval by the ANCCE Executive Committee and subsequent ratification by the Board of Directors, the new Rules and Regulations for Conformation-Functional Competitions have just been published on the ANCCE website. As in previous years, they are divided into two regulations: Rules and Regulations for Conformation Competitions and Rules and Regulations for Judges.

These new regulations will be in force during the 2022 season, which begins with the Equus CRPRE competition in Santa Ana (Costa Rica) from the 3rd to the 6th of March.

With regard to the Competition Regulations, the main new features include:
– Extension of the deadline for applications for Conformation Competitions until 15 January of the current year. (Art. 6).
– Criteria for the categorisation of competitions, reduction of the number of horses (Art. 10).
– Extended to 2** competitions: the impossibility to participate in the SICAB Final for those horses that are entered in two competitions but do not participate once the judges have been drawn by lot. (Art. 15).
– Addition of the status “retired” (Art. 52).
– Added obligation to appear in the ring for 5 mares in order to obtain the point for Best Breeder of SICAB (Art. 60).

ANNEX IV – CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
– Each horse may participate in as many competitions as it wishes, but only its two best results will be counted.
– Sum of points = Ranking points + Prize points obtained (both multiplied by the category coefficient of the competition).
– Scoring tables (see tables).
– 25 horses per section qualify for SICAB.
– If there is a tie in the 25th position, they all qualify.
– The cobra of 3 mares (13th section) and the cobra of 5 mares (14th section) are not included in the classification system. The 3 mare cobra (Sec. 13th) is obliged to go to a competition in order to participate in SICAB.
– A horse not classified at SICAB may be entered to complete the Best Stockbreeding, as long as it has participated in a competition.
– Those stud farms that have several horses classified in the same section, may only participate in SICAB with two horses per section, chosen at the discretion of the stud farm owner.

Next turn
If any of the classified horses do not formalize their registration for the World Championship in due time and form, they will lose their classified status and the next turn will be activated.
